Founded by Joseph Cerniglia, Jr. of Springfield, VT, and after acheiving revered heights through athletic acheivements such as Iron Man:Lake Placid and being a Boston Marathon Qualifier, Joseph decided it was time to give back to the community he hails from that has given him so much.

The Purpose of the Annual Springfield Road Race and Fun Run is, in addition to promoting an active, healthy lifestyle, a way for family and friends to get together and be a part of their local community.

All proceeds from this year's race will go to the Springfield Family Center & Food Shelf . The Springfield Family Center was incorporated in 1971 to meet the needs of low-income families and individuals in Springfield, Vermont.
